THE GENERAL DATA

At qualitative service and regular replacement of oil and oil filters bearings serve very long. A damage sign шатунных bearings is regular rhythmical loud knock from outside a cranked shaft. Frequency depends on engine turns. Especially this knock is swept up, when the engine works under loading. This sign is accompanied by oil pressure drop though usually it is imperceptible if the gauge of pressure of oil is not established. Appreciable vibration usually specifies in damage of the radical bearing, especially on the big turns of the engine, and this vibration is accompanied by more essential pressure drop of oil and "roaring" noise.

At loose leaves of bearings in a good condition the surface smooth, has a homogeneous matte-silver-grey colouring on all surface. The worn out loose leaves have sites with a various colouring there where metal has worn out, and the substrate has seemed. The damaged loose leaves have scratches or teases. If a cranked shaft in a good condition to deal with a question simply, having got other set of bearings of the same size. If repolishing or replacement of a cranked shaft is spent, at this operation it is required to replace and loose leaves of bearings.

The available backlash in bearings can be checked up with use of the firm tool, cores Plastigage. The piece of core Plastigage settles down on a neck of a cranked shaft, then the loose leaf of the bearing and a cover gathers, bolts and nuts are tightened by the moment specified in subsection 3.2.1. After cover removal the width of a core is measured by a scale ruler which specifies the size of a backlash at present.
