3.5.3. Check and adjustment of backlashes of valves

Arrangement of valves



The backlash of valves should be checked and, in case of need, to regulate on the cold engine after its finding in the switched off condition about four hours. It is recommended to carry out these procedures each 20 000 km of run of the car, however, not less often, than time in two years.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator.
2. On engines with a turbo-supercharging to weaken collars and to disconnect an inlet air hose from турбокомпрессора.
3. To remove the air filter.
4. To uncover heads of the block of cylinders.

The prevention

From the end of 1987 the lining of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders of reusable use is established.


5. To adjust a backlash of valves (the tab. Sequence of adjustment of a backlash of valves) after turn of a cranked shaft see so that final the valve were one after another as much as possible open.

The prevention

Working backlash of valves on the cold engine: the engine without pressurisation: the inlet valve – 0,30–0,35 mm; the final valve – 0,30–0,35 mm; the engine with a turbo-supercharging: the inlet valve – 0,10–0,20 mm; the final valve – 0,20–0,30 mm.


6. For adjustment of a backlash of the valve it is necessary to weaken a counternut of a regulating bolt of the corresponding lever of the valve, holding with a screw-driver an adjusting bolt, and then to turn an adjusting bolt while the plate probeа will densely not enter a corresponding thickness between the end of the lever and a head of a core of the valve. In this position it is necessary to tighten a counternut of an adjusting bolt, holding this bolt with a screw-driver.
7. To establish a cover of a head of the block of cylinders and the air filter.
8. To connect to the accumulator a weight wire.
